CAD of Cross-Coupled Miniaturized Hairpin Bandpass Filters

چکیده
Mobile communication systems require a narrow-band BPF having low passband loss, high selectivity, small size and flat group delay. Such a filter response can be realized using filter with cross coupling between nonadjacent resonators. Normally this kind of filters is realized using waveguide cavities or dielectric resonators. This paper describes a method for CAD of cross-coupled BPF using miniaturized hairpin resonator. In contrast to the design techniques in [2,3] no full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulator is needed here. Microstrip slow-wave open-loop filter is proposed in [2,3]. An earlier version of this paper was presented at the 37 International Conference on Information, Communication and Energy Systems and Technologies, ICEST 2002, October 1-4, 2002, Niš, Yugoslavia 1 Ilia Gergiev Iliev – assistant in Dept. of Radiotechnic in Faculty of Communications and Communication Technologies in TU –Sofia E-mail [email protected] 2 Marin V. Nedelchev – student in Dept. of Radiotechnic in Faculty of Communications and Communication Technologies in TU –Sofia E-mail [email protected] Synthesis algorithm of BPF composed of adjacent coupled resonators is described in [1,5]. Cross-coupled structures are shown in fig.3. This type of coupling reduces the filter size.

A conventional hairpin-line resonator size is normally very large. The folded hairpin line resonator filters are compact, small sized and simple to design and fabricate. This paper presents a new class of folded hairpin line microstrip resonator filters with 40-50% reduction in size compared to the conventional hairpin line resonators. A compact microstrip bandpass filter using miniaturized hairpin resonators is presented in this letter. Two modified stepped impedance hairpin resonators connected by parallel coupling are designed for the bandpass filter. The proposed miniaturized hairpin resonator is composed of a microstrip line and rectangular ring structures between parallel high impedance lines. A big capacitance in the h...

Two compact differential bandpass filters (BPFs) based on coupled-line resonators and loaded capacitors are proposed in this work. By properly designing the coupled resonator and the loaded capacitance of original filter model, differential-mode (DM) passband responses and commonmode (CM) rejection can be obtained. For validation, two differential BPFs named Filter I and Filter II are discussed...

Novel miniaturized GaAs based bandpass filters for 5GHz band WLAN using diagonally end-shorted coupled lines and lumped capacitors are proposed. The new filter has a compact size, as small as a few degrees, and shows wider stopband characteristic over 35dB up to 60 GHz. A two-stage band pass filter with planar structure was designed and fabricated at a center frequency of 5.5 GHz, with chip sur...
متن کاملCompact Two-layer Microstrip Bandpass Filters Using Broadside-coupled Resonators
This paper presents a design methodology for realizing broadside-coupled microstrip bandpass filters on multilayer substrates to reduce the size of the filter. The new filter configuration consists of broadside coupled split-ring resonators on two layers backed by a ground plane. With the proposed new method, miniaturization to a greater extent can be achieved compared to the conventional metho...
